Experience EFT From the Inside Out: Attend with your Partner
Mental health professionals and other health professionals and their partners regularly attend Hold Me Tight® Couple Retreats as participants.
You know…good facilitators like you empower others to take risks and this is what I am doing now!!! I have really enjoyed the retreat and we both benefited from it immensely, both personally and professionally. Since then, I have immersed myself more and more in EFT and enjoy every minute of it.
–Retreat participant, and an EFT therapist
Attending a Hold Me Tight® Retreat with your partner is an opportunity to experience EFT – Emotionally Focused Therapy – from the inside out. Your partner will appreciate the work you do much more deeply (no more trying to explain EFT). You’ll take a walk in your clients’ shoes. And you get the added bonus of strengthening your relationship with your partner.
Of course confidentiality is a concern for you. You’ll not need to introduce yourself to others as a health professional unless you wish too. But your name isn’t the only confidentiality issue. On the Retreats FAQ’s page there are a number of question and answers that address various confidentiality scenarios.
I am happy to provide you with a certificate of attendance at the conclusion of the retreat if this experience falls within your professional development goals.
Health professionals attend for a reduced fee. Check the Dates and Fees page.
Experience EFT as a Roving Therapist
There’s another way to experience EFT, if you’ve completed at least the ICEEFT EFT externship* – volunteer as a roving therapist during a Hold Me Tight® retreat. Roving therapists move from couple to couple as couples request assistance during the couple station times.
I had the distinct pleasure of being a roving therapist at one of Irene’s Hold Me Tight® retreats. Not only was it heartening to see couples deepen their connections; I found that the weekend helped me to strengthen my own EFT training as a professional. Irene is a joy to work with and learn from: she’s organized, knowledgable, and approachable. You won’t regret being a roving therapist at one of her HMT weekends!
—Larry Borins, Toronto psychotherapist
Roving therapists attend the entire weekend. No preparation is necessary. You will receive an honorarium. I’d be delighted to hear of your interest. Do contact me. When you contact me tell me the EFT training you’ve had.
*The Greater Toronto EFT community offers EFT training events, including the externship.
Experience EFT as a Retreat Assistant
Have you considered EFT training but want to be more sure that EFT is the training you want to invest in? Your training dollars are precious after all! Consider volunteering as an assistant at a Hold Me Tight® retreat. In exchange for the opportunity to observe EFT in action you’ll assist with set up, managing the food and beverages, etc.
The retreat assistant attends the entire weekend plus some extra time at the beginning and end of each day to assist with refreshment preparation, set up, and clean up. Refreshment preparation and clean up is done during the couple station times so you will be able to observe all of the presentations. This role is open to persons who have not yet attended the ICCEFT 4-day externship. It does not include assisting participant couples at the couple stations. Do contact me if this interests you.
